Our Story

The Beginning: On August 24, 2018, our journey began when we purchased Modern Tire. The owners, Joey and Tracey Dorsey, are well known throughout Hart County. Joey is the senior member of the Hart County Board of Commissioners, a member of the Goldmine Fire Department, and the full-time Vice President and General Manager of the Great Walton Railroad. Tracey is also active in the community and works for Edward Jones in Hartwell.

Expanding Our Service Catalog: After purchasing the business, we changed the name to Modern Tire and All Terrain Inc., because we were going to be more than a tire store. In 2019, we purchased a Hunter Hawkeye Elite Alignment system; we remain the only location in Hartwell with this state-of-the-art equipment. Today, we do almost every alignment in town, and we even give you a before and after printout. During 2019, we updated our list of services to add oil changes. Our staff also received an addition in the form of a full-time mechanic for light mechanic work—like starters, alternators, belts, hoses, bulb replacement, CV axles, shocks, struts, steering accessory repair, etc. In 2019, we also became a Rough Country dealer and began offering lift kits and leveling kits. Other products you'll find at our store include custom wheels of all brands from OE Wheels and Wheel Pros plus Camlocker Toolboxes, Ranch Hand Accessories, and OEM takeoff tire/wheel sets.

Moving & Equipment Rentals: In 2020, we branched out into the rental business. We became a U-Haul dealer. Additionally, we began to rent skid steers and excavators. We have a T550 skid steer and a Bobcat E35 mini-excavator that we rent. We have equipment trailers and a dump trailers for rent as well.

Racing Parts: In 2021, we started Racecraft Performance, a racing parts dealership and became an AFCO racing dealer. Joey decided to put his nearly 30 years of shock experience back in action with the launch of Racecraft Performance.
